* * Confederate Railroad, “When and Where,” Atlantic. “We don’t like original material--unless it’s been done before.” That warning given to a wanna-be country star from a good ol’ bartender in one number is all too descriptive of the rest of the album. Still, predictable lyrics are brightened occasionally when these would-be bad boys of country let some gospel, folk and R&B; influences shine through.
