Nation IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON, D.C. : White House Denies Lawyer’s Statement

A Clinton Administration lawyer has told Senate Whitewater investigators he has “a vague recollection” that Hillary Rodham Clinton was concerned about allowing officials unfettered access to the files of Deputy White House Counsel Vincent Foster--a statement dismissed by the White House. The Washington Post reported that attorney Steven Neuwirth told the committee that White House Counsel Bernard Nussbaum had been told by Clinton friend Susan Thomases that Mrs. Clinton wished to limit the search.
