Smith Micro Software Inc.: The Aliso Viejo manufacturer of communication software for computer modems said Monday that it has filed for the sale of 3.4 million common shares through an initial public offering. The company will sell 1.7 million shares at $10 to $12 each, and co-founders William and Rhonda Smith plan to sell 1.7 million of their 12 million shares.
