3D Systems Corp. Shows Threefold Jump in Profit

3D Systems Corp., a Valencia-based company whose products are used to make three-dimensional models based on computer-generated designs, reported a nearly threefold increase in earnings for the second quarter that ended June 30.

The company posted a profit of $1.41 million, compared to a $506,675 profit in the same three-month period a year earlier. The company also reported record quarterly sales of $14.7 million, up 41% from $10.4 million a year earlier.

For the first six months of the year, the company posted a profit of $2.74 million on sales of $28.3 million, compared to a year-earlier profit of $1.34 million on sales of $19.9 million.
