NetSoft: The privately held Irvine software supplier said Monday that its products will be distributed in Japan as part of an agreement with IBM Japan Systems Engineering Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of IBM Japan. NetSoft said its ClientLink software, used by companies to enable desktop PC users to access data stored on mainframe computer systems, has been translated into Japanese characters by IBM Japan.

Kimber Smith, a spokeswoman for NetSoft, said the agreement is not a revenue generator but part of an effort to form closer ties to IBM. “With IBM distributing our products, we don’t get that ‘Who is NetSoft?’ question,” Smith said.
