VENTURA : Repaired Street Reopens to Traffic
Foothill Road reopened to traffic Wednesday, a week after a buried water main ruptured and ate away a huge chunk of the street.
Ventura public works officials said they were able to repair the work on schedule for about $50,000.
City work crews and contractors have been rebuilding Foothill Road between Hillmont and Day roads since Wednesday, when a foot-wide water main burst and sent thousands of gallons of water into the street.
Water service was lost to about 60 customers for several hours immediately after the failure, while public works crews rerouted supplies.
