Taco Bell Ads Go to Great Heights

A Taco Bell Corp. marketing campaign for a new menu item has led to a planned one-on-one basketball game featuring NBA centers Shaquille O’Neal and Hakeem Olajuwon. The two centers last met in the NBA championship series, when Olajuwon’s Houston Rockets beat O’Neal’s Orlando Magic in four games.

The NBA stars, who have appeared in a series of Taco Bell television commercials, will meet Sept. 30 in a live telecast on cable television from Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J. The players will be battling for a $1-million purse.
