Cigar Smokers Have More Than 1 Option

* I wish to take exception to the article written by Patricia Ward Biederman, “Tales of the Stogie Underground” (Aug. 21).

In the article, she states that the Back Room is “the only establishment in the Valley where a man can lean back in an easy chair and suck on a nice Hoyo de Monterey. . . . “ This statement is factually incorrect. As chief financial officer for Ugly Al’s Fine Cigars Inc., I can assure you that other smoking rooms exist the San Fernando Valley.

Point of fact: Ugly Al’s Cigars, located in Canoga Park, has a smoking room with all the comforts and which is available without charge to customers. I understand that the Big Easy Cigar Co. in Studio City also has a smoking room.
