VENTURA : City Seeking Artist to Design Hiking Trail

The city of Ventura is looking for a professional artist to help design a new recreational trail.
The Ventura River Trail design team will develop a corridor linking the coast to the Ojai River trail. The corridor will be used by cyclists, hikers, equestrians and pedestrians for transportation and recreation.
A professional artist from Ventura, Santa Barbara or Los Angeles counties, a consulting engineer and a landscape architect will design the $2.5-million trail project and identify concepts and sites for public art.
Applicants may send qualifications to the Ventura Community Services Office of Cultural Affairs, 501 Poli St., Room 226, 93002. Applications must be delivered or postmarked by Sept. 13.
