ALGIERS —
A car bomb tore into a public television station Wednesday, injuring 11 people in an attack by Islamic guerrillas who are trying to disrupt presidential elections scheduled for November.
The bomb in the southern Algiers suburb of Eucalyptus caused heavy damage to the television station.
Algeria’s 3 1/2-year-old civil war, in which more than 30,000 people have been killed, erupted after the army canceled 1992 elections that a Muslim party was expected to win and installed its own leader.
