FBI Looks Into Calvin Klein Ads: The agency is conducting a preliminary inquiry into whether the short-lived ads for the clothing company featuring scantily clad young people amount to child pornography or exploitation. The investigation was opened shortly after the ad campaign began in early July amid a “clamor” from critics who thought the company went too far to sell jeans, Justice Department spokesman Carl Stern said. John Russell, spokesman for the Justice Department’s criminal division, said the investigation is in a “very preliminary stage” and that the FBI has not even questioned Calvin Klein company officials. A Klein spokesman said: “We are confident that we have not violated any laws.”
