Dow Corning Lawsuit Trial Postponed: A trial to determine how much Midland, Mich.-based Dow Corning Corp. will be allowed to collect on insurance policies to help it pay for breast implant litigation has been postponed until late October. The trial had been scheduled to begin today in Wayne County Circuit Court. But negotiations between Dow Corning and some of its largest insurers were nearing settlement, company spokeswoman Barbara Muessig said. Settlement with each of the more than 100 insurers is unlikely, she said. When the case goes to trial, Dow Corning will ask a jury to decide which insurers should reimburse it for litigation and settlement costs in thousands of breast-implant cases.
