Wal-Mart to Cut Jobs at Headquarters: The nation’s No. 1 retailer said it plans to cut 80 to 100 jobs in Bentonville, Ark., in the next two weeks. “It’s part of an ongoing review of how to maintain efficiencies,” company spokesman Stephen Hunter said, adding that some workers may be reassigned to other positions. Wal-Mart has 8,000 workers in its corporate offices and 650,000 employees worldwide. The jobs affected will be in both management and hourly positions, Hunter said. He said the cuts follow a recent internal evaluation of costs within Wal-Mart.
