Fourteen eminent scientists, including six Nobel laureates, have joined the American Medical Assn. and the California Medical Assn. in filing briefs with the California Supreme Court saying they see no link between electric and magnetic fields (EMF) from power lines and cancer. The briefs were filed in a homeowner’s suit against San Diego Gas & Electric charging that nearby power lines have devalued luxury homes.

The scientists, including Glenn T. Seaborg of UC Berkeley, Walter Gilbert and Sheldon Glashow of Harvard University and Rosalyn Yalow of the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, said “no scientifically documented health risk has been associated with the usually occurring levels of electromagnetic fields.”
