World IN BRIEF : FRANCE : Bomb Blast Lightly Damages Rail Line

A bomb exploded before dawn on a deserted suburban rail line west of Paris, causing light damage, the Interior Ministry said, and authorities were investigating a claim of responsibility for the recent wave of bombings made in the name of an Algerian rebel group. There was no immediate claim for the latest explosion, and no one was injured in the blast in the suburb of Marly-le-Roi that damaged the track and a post holding overhead wires.
