State of the Art Inc.: The Irvine accounting software developer reported that net income for the third quarter increased 56% to $1.3 million, or 12 cents a share, from $823,000, or 8 cents a share, for the third quarter of the prior year. Revenue gained 36% to $12.2 million from $9 million. Net income for the nine-month period jumped 95% to $3.7 million, or 33 cents a share, from $1.9 million, or 18 cents a share, for the same period in 1994. Revenue rose 28% to $32.4 million from $25.3 million.
