NATION IN BRIEF : MARYLAND : NAACP Director Search Delayed

The committee seeking an executive director for the NAACP has not submitted a name to the board of directors because it has not had time to interview all of the more than 200 applicants, Lenny Springs, committee co-chairman, said in Baltimore. The organization has been without a top administrator since Benjamin F. Chavis Jr. was fired in August, 1994.
