CorVel Corp.: The Irvine provider of managed health care services said that net income for the second fiscal quarter reached a record $1.8 million, or 39 cents a share, up 29% from $1.4 million, or 31 cents a share, for the comparable quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was up 17% to $26.9 million from $22.9 million. Net income for the first half rose 30% to $3.5 million, or 76 cents a share, from $2.7 million, or 61 cents a share, for the same period in the prior year. Revenue increased 19% to $53.6 million from $45 million.
