Pass Ojai Measures to Save Local Branches

* I’m writing to express my support for measures N and O--the library initiatives in Ojai. I speak as a library patron and former branch head of both the Meiners Oaks Library and the Piru Library.
State and federal funding for libraries is sure to continue decreasing in years to come. Unless citizens commit to fund their local libraries, we will be left with an even more skeletal system than we have now--perhaps one or two large branches in the entire county.
It will be a tragedy for residents in small communities. Small libraries were vital to the senior citizens and children in the outlying communities. These people will be unable to travel to the larger libraries if their branches are shut down.
