A state senator, a philharmonic director and a professor of Spanish are being added this week to Orange Coast College’s Alumni Hall of Fame.

The three are state Sen. Ross Johnson, Eric Vollmer, executive director of the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, and Carmenmara Hernandez-Bravo, who teaches Spanish language at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.

On Friday, they will be the 46th, 47th and 48th people inducted.

Johnson, a lifelong resident of Orange County, attended OCC from 1958 to 1960. He is a veteran of the California Legislature, having served as an assemblyman for 17 years before being elected to the Senate.

Vollmer, who attended OCC as a music major in 1962 and 1963, has long been part of the Southern California music world. After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Southern California in music history and musicology, Vollmer returned to Orange County to direct the Orange County Philharmonic Society. He also served as director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and in June took over as director of the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival.

Hernandez-Bravo graduated from OCC with highest honors in 1985. She has since added bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Spanish to her list of academic honors. She is now working toward a Ph.D. in Spanish at UC Irvine.
