MCA Obtains Rights to Famed Jazz Recordings: MCA Music Entertainment acquired the rights to license recordings from the famed Commodore Records catalogue, home to such seminal jazz figures as Billie Holiday, Lester Young and Coleman Hawkins. MCA and Commodore Records founder Milt Gabler declined comment on the financial details of the exclusive licensing deal, but sources said MCA is expected to purchase the catalogue outright in the near future.
