Public Invited to Question Council Candidates at Forum
A final debate between the candidates seeking three open seats on the Ventura City Council is scheduled for tonight at the Poinsettia Pavilion, 3451 Foothill Road.
The public is invited to participate in the forum, which is sponsored by the Ventura County Entrepreneur Society and the Jaycees.
Unlike previous forums in which the 12 candidates running for City Council have responded individually to one or two questions, the format for this debate will allow candidates to respond to statements made by other candidates.
The program will be moderated by Mark Glover, the director of debate at Ventura College.
In the first half of the forum, a panel of representatives from the local media will pose questions to the candidates. In the second half, members of the audience will ask questions.
The debate begins at 7 p.m. and is expected to continue until 9:30.
