OXNARD : Man Suspected in 3rd Bank Robbery

Share

A man suspected in two other Ventura County bank robberies hit an Oxnard branch of the Bank of America on Friday, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The heist at the Bank of America at 2475 Saviers Road marks the 37th bank robbery in the county this year.

FBI officials said the bandit entered the bank at about 9:10 a.m. and scribbled on the back of a deposit slip, which he then handed to a teller. Because the demand note was gibberish, the FBI said, the robber verbally asked the teller for cash and said he had a gun.

The robber did not display any weapon and was last seen on foot wearing a black baseball cap and a brown plaid, long-sleeve shirt. The FBI said the man, described as a Latino male in his late 20s and about 5-foot-7, is a suspect in two other Bank of America robberies. A robber hit a Port Hueneme branch of the bank Aug. 15 and another branch in Camarillo on Oct. 16.
