A FROND IN NEED

Accompanying Gardetta’s article are two photographs of palm trees, one labeled “pygmy date palm,” the other “roebeleniis palm,” But it looks as though the roebeleniis photo is merely a closer view of the pygmy date. Is that an error, or are they the same tree?

Good eye; they are indeed the same. Pygmy date palm is the common name for phoenix roebelenii (no “s” at the end).
