Grace L. Johnson died Wednesday of natural causes at age 105.
Mrs. Johnson, who moved to Ojai 17 years ago from Chicago, was born March 12, 1890, in Chicago.
She was a homemaker and was interested in the Unity Movement religious organization in Ojai.
“She lived a long and good life,” said her son D. Ric Johnson of Ojai. “She saw the era that started the automobile, but took her first airplane ride 17 years ago.”
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. Johnson in 1992, and son Robert Johnson in 1957.
In addition to son D. Ric Johnson, she is survived by her daughter, Lee Woods of New Orleans; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at D. Ric Johnson’s Ojai home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clausen Funeral Home of Ojai.
