GARDEN GROVE : Update : Follow-up on the news : Water Rate Initiative to Be on Later Ballot
- Share via
The initiative to repeal a 1991 water rate increase will not appear on the March, 1996, ballot.
Instead, it has been moved to November, 1996, so that city officials will have more time to file the required paperwork.
“It takes 60 to 90 days to get an ordinance on the ballot,” said Councilman Bob Dinsen, who turned the initiative over to the city on Oct. 26.
He said the delay would have no effect on water bills because the $30-a-year savings the initiative calls for would not take effect until 1997 anyway.
