FULLERTON : Vallejo Chief Named to Head Fire Department
Stephen P. Magliocco, Vallejo’s fire chief, has been chosen to head the Fullerton’s Fire Department, city officials announced Wednesday.
Magliocco, 46, of Anaheim, will begin his new job Dec. 11, with an annual salary of $97,000.
The position came open two months ago when Fire Chief Marc Martin resigned to head the Santa Ana Fire Department.
Magliocco joined the Anaheim Fire Department in 1974 as a firefighter and was promoted to captain, battalion chief, training officer and then administrative division chief. He has been Vallejo’s chief for a year.
“There are some new ideas I want to try,” Magliocco said in a statement. “But to begin with, I just want to . . . build relationships both within the department and the community.”
Battalion Chief Larry Greene, who has been acting fire chief, will continue in that post until Magliocco takes over next month.
