By the end of the century, West Hollywood residents could be flipping pages in a new state-of-the-art library.
The West Hollywood City Council agreed Monday to appoint a committee to head up a library construction effort, determining the types of services the library should offer, the design and location of the building and other concerns.
West Hollywood has a county library, but it is too small and outdated to meet the city’s needs, said Fran Solomon, a staff member for West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman. City officials would like to build a library that has computers and can hold more books than the current facility.
