VENTURA : Panel to Consider Plan for Roller Rink
- Share via
Ventura planning commissioners will consider a request Tuesday to build an outdoor roller hockey rink on a grassy area near Ventura Harbor.
The city’s Planning Department has recommended that the project be approved.
The 180-by-80-square-foot rink would be used by a local in-line hockey team, the Street Sharks, that has been searching for a site for several years. The hockey team now practices at an indoor rink in Oxnard.
In recent years, roller hockey enthusiasts in Thousand Oaks and Camarillo have pushed for similar facilities for the fast-growing sport.
If eventually approved by the City Council, the in-line-hockey rink would be the first built in the city of Ventura.
