EVERYWHERE

Harvest: Green garlic, onions, shallots, kohlrabi, radishes, turnips, winter greens and herbs, broccoli, carrots, leafy celery, peas (except in mountains), tomatoes where there hasn’t been frost.

COASTAL CLIMATES

Sow: Broccoli, all peas, radishes, winter greens and herbs.

Harvest: Beets, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celeriac.

LOW DESERT

Sow: Beets, carrots, cilantro, radishes, spinach.

Harvest: Assorted beans, beets, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, leafy celery, cucumbers.

HIGH DESERT

Harvest: Brussels sprouts.

INTERIOR CLIMATES

(Where fuchsias won’t grow)

Sow: Cilantro, green onions, all peas, radishes, spinach.

Harvest: Beets, celeriac, potatoes.

INTERIOR CLIMATES

(Where fuchsias grow fairly well)

Sow: Green onions, all peas, radishes, winter greens and herbs.

Harvest: Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celeriac.

KEY

Winter greens and herbs: Arugula, cabbage, chard, chervil, chicories, Chinese cabbages, chives, cilantro, collards, corn salad, cress, dandelion, endive, green-in-the-snow mustard, green onions, shallots, kale, komatsuna (mustard spinach), winter lettuces, mizuna, parsley, rosette pak choi, sorrel, spinach.

When seeds can be sown, seedlings of the same crop can be planted. All crops can be grown in containers.
