CAMARILLO : Auction Will Fund College Scholarships

An auction next week at Camarillo’s Spanish Hills Golf and Country Club will help send several area high school students to college.

The Ventura County branch of the National Human Resources Assn. will host its second annual silent auction at the club Wednesday. Money raised will fund two or three college scholarships, each worth $1,000, for local high school seniors interested in careers in business or human resources.

About 60 items, including vacation packages, will be auctioned. Bidding will be conducted on sheets of paper placed next to each item, with bidders writing on the sheets the amount they are willing to pay.

Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., with dinner and the auction starting at 7 p.m. Tickets, which include the price of dinner, cost $30.
