GM Recall and Environmental Concern

GM’s brazen disregard for the law(“GM Will Recall Cadillacs,” Dec. 1) only serves to illustrate the unwillingness of corporate America to seriously address environmental concerns.

Evidently GM considers the performance of its Cadillacs more important than the performance of people’s lungs. The people in inner cities, the ones who can least afford to buy a Cadillac, are the ones who pay the highest price in terms of lung damage due to polluted air.

This unconscionable act on the part of GM offers incontrovertible proof that public interest plays second fiddle to corporate greed.
