Citron’s ‘Dementia’ a Self-Serving Strain

Share

* Please find out more about the new mystery disease in Orange County that creates “dementia” in human victims (“Citron Says He Suffered ‘Dementia’ for 4 Years,” Nov. 14). I am pretty sure it also causes elected officials to want more tax money and higher fees, and allows neurons to cease functioning when the word “audit” is mentioned. Politicians seem to be the most possible vector of this highly contagious disease.

* Re Robert Citron’s defense attorney David Wiechert’s argument that Mr. Citron was both intellectually limited and, later, demented: I take notice that Mr. Citron himself once boasted of his investment acumen. Later, we are told, Mr. Citron “was feeling the effects of his psychological maladies and had begun to withdraw from public view.” At least his dementia had not progressed to the degree that he didn’t know that he had to withdraw from public view.

To all of this I say: How silly--or disingenuous--can you get?

* Bob Citron isn’t guilty of anything that any other person of “limited intellectual capabilities” hasn’t done: He attended USC and became an Orange County politician.
