Allergan Attains $1-Billion Sales Goal
IRVINE —
Allergan Inc., which produces various health-care products, said it has achieved its goal of exceeding $1 billion in sales this year.
The Irvine company, which expects to report financial results for the year and fourth quarter Jan. 24, had sales of $947.2 million in 1994.
In a letter to the company’s 6,000 employees worldwide, Chief Executive Officer William C. Shepherd reminisced about the company that he joined almost 30 years ago. “Allergan’s sales were about $3 million and we had a few hundred employees who managed small prescription ophthalmic and contact lens care lines, mainly in the U.S.,” he said.
