Trimedyne Inc.: The Irvine medical laser manufacturer said it lost $5.3 million, or 56 cents a share, for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, compared with a year-earlier loss of $2.3 million, or 25 cents a share. Revenue was down 3% to $13 million from $13.4 million.

In the fourth quarter, Trimedyne lost $2.4 million, or 25 cents a share, including a $1.2-million onetime write-down of inventories and receivables and legal fees. The company lost $774,000, or 9 cents a share, in the same period last year. Revenue rose 3% to $3.2 million from $3.1 million.
