Turkey Trot Includes Fun Runs, Walkathon

Organizers of the fourth annual Doubletree Turkey Trot are seeking participants for fun runs and a walkathon Sunday to benefit the Ventura County Special Olympics.

The events take place at San Buenaventura State Beach Park, with registration opening at 7:30 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 2055 E. Harbor Blvd. The races start at 8:30 a.m.

This year’s Turkey Trot will feature the Special Olympics’ state distance running championships.

More than 80 Special Olympic athletes from Southern California--30 from Ventura County--will compete in several races.

Entry fees are $16. Special Olympians register for $7.
