Turkeys to Stuff U.S. Troops on Christmas
Fresh turkey dinners are on the menu for some U.S. troops in Bosnia-Herzegovina this Christmas, while troops en route from Germany will get almost-fresh turkey meals, the Army said Friday.
Army cooks displayed the “T-rations”--prepared meals heated up and served to troops similar to meals on airliners.
“If you had two slices side by side [one fresh and one in a T-ration dinner], you would not be able to tell the difference, especially with gravy on them,” Army spokesman Maj. Stan Heath said.
Heath said the T-ration turkey dinners will be supplemented with fresh pies and fruits, as will the fresh turkey dinners.
