Graduating Summer cum Latte

The holiday boat parades have passed by, and some of the waterfront alfresco cafes are getting ready to close up for the cold--and possibly rainy--month of January.

Although the weatherman says we need the showers, Orange County sun-lovers are hoping that mild days continue. That’s certainly the mind-set at such places as the Raft Cafe, which overlooks the bay in Newport Beach.

Catching the last rays of ‘95, pleasure-seekers at the cafe find a warming respite. Sun-worshipers in shades lounge on the patio, order Italian-roasted Torrefazione coffee or French champagne, and pretend that the Endless Summer is a reality.
