San Fernando Valley : 6 Charged in Probe of Convalescent Home

Six people charged with running a North Hollywood convalescent home without a license are scheduled for arraignment Jan. 17 in Los Angeles Municipal Court. Deputy City Atty. P. Greg Parham said criminal charges were filed Dec. 21 against the owners and managers of Magnolia Villa, a convalescent home for senior citizens at 10537 Magnolia Blvd.

Charged were four members of a partnership that owns the home: Sara Friedman, 44, of Tarzana; Stanley Diller, 69, of Hancock Park, and David Einhorn, 60, and Morris Ganger, 72, of the Fairfax district. Also charged were Juliet Quiane, 41, of North Hollywood, director of the facility, and Paulina Pedraja, 61, of North Hollywood, a former director.
