San Gabriel Valley : Acting City Atty. Wheels In a Fortune--on TV Show
During Monday night’s City Council meeting, Pasadena’s acting city attorney made an important purchase: She bought a vowel.
Cristina Talley’s acquisition did not appear as an item on the meeting’s agenda, but thousands of people witnessed it as an October taping of “Wheel of Fortune” aired publicly at the same time.
“People who only know me at work, or who don’t know me that well, may be shocked,” Talley said of her behavior as a contestant. “I was a very enthusiastic player.”
She was successful, too. Talley and her best friend and playing partner, Gretchen Carner of Los Angeles, took home more than $91,500 in cash and prizes from the special “best friends” theme week game, she said.
