Pyramid Principle Works With Shad

Share

The shad that thrive in Pyramid Lake are not always easy to catch. But when they are, it usually leads to much bigger catches.

Guide Eric Stepanek managed to scoop some up with a dip net--they are allowed for catching bait at the Los Angeles County reservoir--and he and Ray Merrill baited them up and proceeded to catch 20 striped bass, ranging in size from five to 18 pounds.

“They also caught about 20 largemouth bass,” said Shilo Chefalo, lake spokesman. “They said the shad are all over the place. And when you have shad, you can catch anything.”
