He canvassed Ventura neighborhoods, knocking first and asking for money. If no one came to the door, police said he would then break in and steal property.

Police arrested a 30-year-old Santa Paula resident early Friday morning in connection with a string of residential robberies that began earlier this week in Ventura.

Felipe Campa Robledo was booked into Ventura County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Police said a caller reported that the suspect was knocking on doors in the 2400 block of Pierpont Boulevard at about 12:45 a.m. Friday soliciting money. Officers rushed to the area and apprehended the suspect, police said.

Police said they linked the suspect to the crimes because his method conformed to the robberies that began on Monday.
