MENACE TO SOCIETY

Have you people taken leave of your senses? How could you publish the ad for “Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood” that appeared in full-page living color in your daily and Sunday editions? Where are your standards? As a liberal, I am a staunch defender of the 1st Amendment, but it has to be exercised with a modicum of responsibility.

Forget that this ad presents the sentiment that “Higher Learning can be a waste of time.” In the midst of gang warfare, carjackings, armed robberies and drive-by shootings, you see fit to print a picture of a young man with a bullet hanging around his neck, brandishing an “actual size” pistol at my head.

I have read that this is a comedy. I have a pretty good sense of humor, but I see nothing but tragedy in this forlorn presentation.
