Share

Franklin Telecom, a Westlake Village producer of computer networks and other electronic products, has formed a division to enter the Internet service business.

The new unit, Franklin Internet, will offer high-speed access to business opportunity listings and a wide variety of other information, according to Michael F. Wells, who will head the operation. He was formerly chief executive of Metacomp Inc., a San Diego supplier of data communications hardware.

Last November, Franklin Telecom acquired AlphaLink, an Agoura Internet service provider.

Franklin said it has signed an agreement with GST Telecommunications Inc. of Vancouver, Wash., for high-speed fiber communications services that will be offered by the new division.
