Obituaries : Charles William Fitzgerald; Retired Park Ranger

Charles William Fitzgerald, a retired Ventura County park ranger, died Tuesday at home. He was 65.

The Santa Paula resident patrolled county-owned parks for 23 years and was an active member of several civic groups. The native of Buffalo, N.Y., led Boy Scout Troop 302 as scoutmaster and belonged to the Royal Order of the Moose in Santa Paula and the New York-based Elks Lodge.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin Fitzgerald of Santa Ana and Patrick Fitzgerald of San Clemente; a brother, James Fitzgerald of El Paso, Texas, and a grandson.

No funeral services are scheduled, and a private burial at sea is planned.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Guardian Memorial Funeral Directors in Oxnard.
