Earth Summit II’s Focus Is Recycling
Recycle Rex will deliver the message Saturday to “recycle, reduce, reuse and close the loop” when John Malcom Elementary School sponsors Earth Summit II.
Recycle Rex, the California Department of Conservation’s “spokesdinosaur,” will be joined at the second annual event by Mother Earth, Mr. Polluter and Ricky the Raindrop.
The free public program will feature an Earth walk, an Earth lab, a science club membership drive, a tile painting contest and a conservation and recycling fair with exhibits and activities for all ages.
Earth Summit II is sponsored by the Barney Bunch Conservation Crew, made up of students from teacher Cheryl Barnes’ fifth-grade class, and the Malcom Science Booster Club.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be on the John Malcom campus, 32261 Charles Ave. Information: (714) 248-0542.
