ORANGE COUNTY ALMANAC : 10 Years Ago Today . . .
. . . A convicted murderer and another inmate overpowered a guard and escaped from the Orange County Jail.
They were the only two inmates in a rooftop recreation area. After restraining the guard with his own handcuffs, they escaped by using an electrical cord and blankets to rappel down the outside wall.
