Panel OKs Landscape Firm’s Use of House
A Simi Valley landscaping firm that for several years has used a house in a residential area as its office can now do so with the city’s express permission.
Planning commissioners have unanimously approved L & W Landscape Service’s request to house its offices at the corner of Tapo Street and Adam Road. The main structure on the property is a single-story house built before the city’s incorporation.
However, the commissioners required the firm to replace a hedge separating the property from a home next door with a 6-foot masonry wall to protect neighbors from noise created by the business. They also required that the business not run its equipment, such as lawn mowers, before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m.
