$800,000 to Be Spent on Road, Lot Repairs

Construction Ahead
Garden Grove will spend about $800,000 on street improvements in these areas:
1. Project: Street improvements including right- turn lane, bus turnouts and traffic signal modicfications.
Date: Late March. Work will start once a water line project is completed.
Cost: $364,225
2. Project: Additions of right- turn lanes and traffic signal modifications.
Date: Week of Feb. 26.
Cost: $228,072.65
3. Project: Irrigation and landscaping of Civic Center.
Date: Week of Feb. 12.
Cost: $56,243 (funded with Redevelopment Agency bonds).
4. Project: To turn the street from two to four lanes of traffic between McFadden Avenue and Mast Avenue, parking will be prohibited. A bike path will be added between McFadden Avenue and Hazard Avenue.
Date: Possibly mid-March. Project pending allocation from the city of Westminster.
Cost: Funded jointly with Westminster. Garden Grove’s shrare: $7,000.
5. Project: Median construction.
Date: Week of Feb. 29.
Cost: $175,849 (funded with federal monies under the Hazard Elimination Safety Program).
