VENTURA : Edison Loans Electric Van to City’s Fleet
Southern California Edison has loaned an electric-powered van to the city of Ventura for use in its motor pool for the next month.
The five-passenger cargo van will be used to transport city employees and equipment in an effort to reduce pollution in Ventura, officials said. Edison officials said the “G-Van” is 97% cleaner than gasoline-powered vehicles and is ideal for short trips around the city.
Because the electric van has fewer moving parts than gasoline vehicles, officials said it will require less maintenance.
